What Is CBD Bubble Hash? A Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Extract

CBD Bubble Hash, A Solventless Hemp Extract

With CBD still in it's infancy, there are new users coming onboard the "CBD Train" everyday. This means that, for newcomers, there are lots of products and information to sift through. At times, it might seem complicated, having such a wide selection. But no worries! That's why we're here, to help you sort it all out!

By now you may have heard of terms like "full spectrum CBD", "the entourage effect" and "terpenes". But what exactly is CBD bubble hash and what are the benefits? What is a concentrate, and how many kinds of CBD concentrates are out there?

In this article we will cover some of those terms. We'll explain what, exactly, CBD Bubble Hash is. We'll give you some reasons you may want to try some out. for yourself.

What Is Bubble Hash?

First of all, what is hash? Hash is the pressed resins from a cannabis flower (whether marijuana plants or hemp). It's like a more potent, compact form of CBD.

Traditionally, hash was extracted by hand in places like India. You would simply rub harvested hemp or cannabis buds in between your hands. Then, the sticky resin glands were collected in an accumulating mass of hash. These resins were the "best" part of the cannabis, and contained the cannabinoids and terpenes.

This hash contains a certain amount of residual plant matter. Even in modern times, plant matter gets mixed in if you aren't careful. But especially with the old school methods, done by hand.

But even with the extra fluff of leftover plant matter, it was still a concentrated extract of the active compounds in the plant. This was the first cannabis concentrate.

Overtime, there have been various methods of creating a "full spectrum CBD" extract. Full spectrum means that it contains a complete array of all the cannabinoids. In some extraction processes, the plant is refined and dissected. This can strip out certain cannabinoids and terpenes (plant oils which provide the smell and flavor of the plant).

At DLO, we prefer strictly full spectrum extracts. We just feel that you get a better product when you leave all of those compounds in. The benefits and effect of hemp is altered, sometimes ruined altogether, by too much "tweaking".

Plus, all cannabinoids and terpenes must be present to create "the entourage effect." The entourage effect refers to the symbiosis that happens with full spectrum products. This effect occurs when all of the cannabinoids and terpenes play off each other in cannabis or hemp. This creates a unique and enhanced effect. Think of it as "the sum is greater than the parts."

We prefer to let mother nature do all of the work at DLO. We tend not to be interested in co2 extraction or butane extraction, other methods for extraction. There are some concerns about the health of these products. In particular, these methods may leave behind solvents.

For the purpose of brevity in this article, we will not dive in to all of the other hemp extraction methods. Here we will focus instead on CBD Bubble Hash. We'll provide information on what its benefits are, as well as how it is processed.

CBD Bubble Hash/Ice Hash

As we've already shown, there are various methods for making hash. Our CBD Bubble hash (and all bubble hashes) are a kind of ice water ash. The hemp is agitated in ice water. This icy cold water causes freezing, which snaps off the trichome heads of a hemp plant.

Then, the ice water mixture is filtered through various different screens. The screens change in size, each with different micron values. These screens are inside vinyl bags called "bubble bags." Bubble bags are used to trap, agitate and separate the different parts of the cannabis as it is refined.

The end result is different grades of CBD hash. Some grades contain different portions of the trichome and varying levels of residual plant matter. Some CBD Bubble Hash makers will only use the resins that got filtered through certain micron levels.  But this would not be full spectrum hash.

Like the old, traditional hand-made hash we were describing before, bubble hash is still a solid concentration of cannabis resin. It's called bubble hash, as it tends to bubble when smoked. It can be anything from a light blonde to a dark brown color.

Full spectrum CBD Bubble Hash uses all of the different sizes of filtered resins. It then combines them to create a solvent free, full spectrum CBD concentrate. This means that it can still provide the entourage effect when you ingest it.  Nothing has been stripped from the resin. All the compounds are still there, for the strongest and best effect.

This is why we prefer to produce full spectrum CBD Bubble Hash . We don't market broad spectrum hash. It's just not as powerful or useful, and we don't think you get what you pay for. It also typically has less flavor, due to stripped terpenes. Since it's made from hemp (not marijuana), it still has low levels of THC and the CBD is concentrated instead.

What About Dry Ice?

Some people use a similar process as Dreamland Organics, but use dry ice instead of an ice water bath. This is less effort on the maker - using dry ice is faster, as the trichome heads separate quicker.

It also doesn't require the lengthy drying time that ice water baths do. While using a freeze dryer can cut the drying time significantly, it's still a time consuming process. Using dry ice removes that step altogether.

But the end product does reflect the effort. Hash made with dry ice tends to be less potent, less flavorful, and often has more plant matter mixed in. It's easier, yes, but at Dreamland Organics, we're too concerned with quality products to settle for taking the easy way.

CBD Kief vs CBD Bubble Hash

If you're familiar with kief, you might be wondering what makes hash different. After all, we're collecting and filtering the resin. That's just kief, right?

Well, yes and no. It's true that kief comes from the cannabis plant's trichomes, just like hash. It's the sticky, powdery resin - which is also collected for hash.

However, in the case of hash, it's more potent. While kief is strong on its own, hash is an even stronger, more concentrated final product. For example, our flower ranges from 11-17% CBD. If you topped your bud with an extra sprinkle of kief, it might be more like 20%, max. Our bubble hash is significantly higher, at 32%.

The Benefits Of Full Spectrum Bubble Hash

So what are the benefits of full spectrum CBD extracts like Bubble Hash? In addition to the entourage effect, a concentrate in general has the benefit of being stronger than hemp. This means that less of it has to be consumed to provide the desired effect.

We love sprinkling a little CBD Bubble Hash on a joint of CBD hemp flower to enhance the potency. If you want to smoke less CBD flower, adding a concentrate allows you to do so without giving up results. It is possible to smoke a very small amount and still get a very potent effect.

CBD concentrates like Bubble Hash are also great for adding to edibles. You can also prepare them in hot beverages like coffee or tea.  Just be careful as a little goes a long way.

We are in the process of creating a CBD Bubble Hash vape cartridge with only CBD Bubble Hash Rosin and terpenes. This will certainly be the safest way to vape CBD without any additives or residual solvents.

We hope we provided some insights in to CBD Bubble Hash and encourage you to try it out yourself. Sprinkle some on a CBD Flower pre roll, put some in your next batch of CBD edibles, or even vape some in your vaporizor to get a potent dose of organic CBD chill.

Stay blessed and talk soon, much love from Dreamland.
